503750 2006-12-02 07:52:00 I had trouble enabling WPA in exactly the same DLink model - until I updated the firmware at the Dlink website. This may be worth a try. Oldferix (5581)
503751 2006-12-02 19:11:00 Pics a bit blurry ( or maybe it's just Sunday morning), all that is said above maybe applicable but you also need to set a password under PSK String eg. something like PyFjhaZ99bs4jyTIlpCw4MuPhbWmdrks should do the job snoopy (74)
503752 2006-12-02 20:37:00 You need to select the PSK String option and put in a nice long sentence (that you will remember) and then put this same sentence into the wireless settings on the machines that need wireless access. Set the machines to WPA-PSK TKIP. CYaBro (73)
503753 2006-12-02 22:01:00 snoopy,if u click on the pic it goes bigger and 100% clear. Ok i found the firmware at the dlink site and i'm ready to download the firmware but it says I have to find out if the dsl g604t router is REV A or REV B. It said the REV should be printed on the wireless router's label. If gave me this example:

files.dlink.com.au

Now it does say anything about REV A or REV B on my wireless router. How do i find out what REV i have?

P.S

Here is my wireless router:

503754 2006-12-02 23:52:00 hey the mac addresses from anyone who accessing my wi-fi network are located in the DHCP list in my router right? So there is no way a hacker can remove their mac address from my router's DHCP list is there? lance4k (4644)
503755 2006-12-03 00:07:00 Run it open but use a proxy server which will filter everything except for a few Christian sites. That will annoy any hacker (assuming they can't hack around it). :D dolby digital (5073)

The label on my Dlink is slightly different to that shown in your example. The information is on the label just above the barcode and mine reads - Model DSL-G604T/NZ V B3. Therefore my 'Rev' is B3. Once I downloaded and installed the firmware my troubles were over - I hope that it works for you.

503757 2006-12-03 23:38:00 ok thanks olderfix, one question though. to upgrade the firmware with the .exe file(they don't offer a bin file),it says as part of the upgrade i have to do this:

Step 4. !!!IMPORTANT!!! You must assign a static IP address to your PC before upgrading the firwmare, otherwise it will corrupt your unit.
Go to Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties > Internet Protocol TCP/IP > Properties >
IP address: 10.1.1.5,
Subnet Mask 255.0.0.0,
Default Gateway 10.1.1.1.

Now problem is,the pc to which the wireless router is connected is running windows ME. So i don't have "network connections" located in control panel. I do however have a tab called "network". When i go into "network" it has these things:

CLient for microsoft networks
Realtek PCI fast ethernet adapter
TCP/IP

Now Do i click on "TCP/IP" and if so, then there is an "Ip address" tab. If i click on it i can type in the IPADDRESS or SUBNET Mask, but there is no where to type in the "default gateway",however if I click on the "Gateway" tab i can type in a default gateway. So is doing this on WIN ME the same as "step 4" as stated above?
