1409358 2015-10-03 01:48:00 I have bought a DLink DCS2330L security camera, and I'm having a problem configuring it. In theory you can set it up to notify via email, FTP images or save to a network location or an SD card.

I can make it notify by email and to save images to the SD card, but I can't make the others work.

For the FTP, I have FileZilla server on my PC, and I can set up a user on FireFTP and get it to logon to FireZilla no problem. The FileZilla log shows it all happening. If I set up the same user parameters on the DLink it doesn't work. When I click to test the setup I get the message "Test Error" (real helpful, eh?) When you look at the Filezilla log it shows nothing, as if the Dlink never got anywhere near it.

It is driving me nuts. Any ideas from anyone? I realize this is real minimalist info, but I'm not sure what else I can provide.

1409360 2015-10-03 03:16:00 could try a different server

Possibly sftp?

www.coreftp.com

I haven't tried it myself. I mention it because I'm using coreftp client. I changed to it when I couldn't get filezilla client to connect

That would be an option, although for what I am doing a paid app will be a last resort.

I know little about sftp but as far as I can see the Dlink client doesn't support it.

1409362 2015-10-03 04:20:00 You could try some of the links given here (dlink dcs2330l manual) Greg (193)
1409363 2015-10-03 04:51:00 You could try some of the links given here (dlink dcs2330l manual)The link doesn't work. I have been reading the manual and looking at the Dlink website. I haven't found any of it very illuminating. Tony (4941)
1409364 2015-10-03 05:36:00 I would check firewall settings. You really need a more verbose error to know why the test failed, maybe you can specify severity or get more verbose out of it? Kame (312)

As far as I can see it is either "Test OK" or "Test Error". :(
I'm not sure about the firewall settings - what should I be looking at? At the moment the camera is working via a wired connection to the same router that the PC is connected to. The PC is running Filezilla Server and I have been running FireFTP (which works) and the D-Link software (which doesn't) through the same browser on the same PC.

1409366 2015-10-03 08:50:00 Set up a new gmail account (and sit forward it to yourself). Then gave a Google around a for a gmail script that saves attachments to google drive.

The Advantage with this is the machine getting the images is eternal so You're not dependant on having your machine running to relieve images.

The problem in my situation is that email notification will leave me with hundreds if not thousands of emails to trawl through every day (one for each triggered detection) - which is why I am not setting up email notification. I want each detection to just load an image somewhere so I can then scan through them quickly and stop at ones that are relevant. I can get the images to be stored on an SD card on the camera, but there is no easy way to access those either thanks to DLink's convoluted interface. Even if I were to physically remove the card and plug it into the PC it would be a real pain (trust me).
