| 1409277 | 2015-10-01 21:31:00 | Hi guys and hoping for some help, please. I have a Vista desktop, a newish (2 month old HP Lappy) and amy "smartphone all running off my Telecom modem on fiber. How hard is it to network these together? On the lappy I went through the network/sharing and am unsure about my Vista. Years ago I had a Linux lappy setup on networking, but no idea how I set it up. Been in hospital 3 or 4 times since then and my memory not to hot. Thanks for any helps, :):illogical ian |

If you use windows file sharing and set the workgroup to be the same on each machine they should be able to see each other on the network. Not my area of expertise though so someone else can help you on specifics. As for the smartphone, what type? Apple, Android, windows? and do you really need to network it? The are file management apps for android that will allow you to access windows shared folder such as bubbleupnp play.google.com |

| 1409280 | 2015-10-01 23:09:00 | What / why do you want to network a PC and a phone? Probably be better if you connect both to wifi. If you've got wifi. Or use a memory card / bluetooth | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
