1408942 2015-09-27 00:36:00 Further to my post of 21/9/15, I have found this at Answers.microsoft.com:

"Apparently there's is a problem within Windows 10 and the Broadcom WiFi card in several Samsung laptop models (at least in the RC, RV, RF series) that prevents the completion of Windows 10 install (Stucks on Windows Logo on restart of installation). This is a known problem by Microsoft since early Windows 10 beta builds, but have not been addressed in time for Windows 10 final release. For now the only solution is to physically remove WiFi card form main board which is not really easy since it requires full disassembly of the laptop because where Samung locates the WiFi card on the board. Lots of users report that replacing the WiFi card with an Atheros works well with Windows 10."

I'm certainly not into opening my laptop (wouldn't know how) and removing a card, let alone replacing it with another. It appears I just have to wait till Samsung and Microsoft get their acts together.

Unless anyone out there has any other bright ideas?

1408947 2015-09-27 06:38:00 I had a similar problem with my Lenovo. In my case because I installed from a DVD the problem only arose when it tried to go on line. I plugged it in to the router and once the updates were done all was well. In my case I think that it didn't have a driver for the Broadcom card, and of course could not find one until it went online. mzee (3324)
