When you are the only guy in the computer room working on your database administration assignment at 7.36pm, the Internet speed can get astoundingly fast. When you are sharing a big common computer room with hundreds of other people "working on their assignments" (aka browsing youtube / Facebook) during lunch hour, the speed can definitely slow to a crawl at times.
