1400352 2015-05-08 11:30:00 I decided to get off the i-Bus about 2 months ago and have gone Android. Can anyone recommend some good apps? Whether they be utilities, games or whatever. I have a few but at this point I don't know what I don't know and am unsure what to look for.
Thanks
Andrew

1400355 2015-05-08 23:20:00 Thanks Ken - I presume life reminders is for things like birthdays and anniversaries etc.? I do that sort of thing (if I remember) in my calendar. I will check out the other two as well thanks.

I forgot to mention this is on a phone.

What I have already are the the built in apps (maps, calendar, alarm clock, gmail, calculator, google docs etc.) and I have downloaded a few like paypal, anz, grabaseat, QR reader, news apps (herald, BBC, stuff), battery saver utility and memory cleaner, my vodafone, flashlight, compass, AcDisplay, YouTube, marine weather and the only game I really play (Clash of Clans). I have bookmarked a few favourite webpages and saved them on the main screen for quick access.

But has anyone found anything else they would recommend? Utilities or games or whatever?

1400357 2015-05-09 00:22:00 I use feed readers a bit to read latest about from sites/blogs I subscribe to. Pulse, Feedly are popular feed readers. Flipboard is another.

I subscribe to Fresh Meat (androidandme.com) and top ten updates from the site Android and Me. They do weekly app reviews, but based on lower no. of installs, rather than popularity.

1400358 2015-05-09 00:28:00 I don't put much stock in those battery saver/ memory cleaner utilities. If you are having battery issues reduce the screen brightness and check in the settings what is using the battery. As for memory, better to let android do it's thing unassisted. If there's a factory setting for battery saving use that (on my note 3 reduces performance by a % to improve battery life).

Pocket is a great utility for storing passwords, wi-fi analyser is fun to play with and actually a fairly useful tool if you are having wi-fi issues - or just want to see how many neighbours networks you can detect. A lot of websites have mobile apps to make content easier to read - Tom's hardware, Stuff, trademe, etc.

Some other apps I use;
Burger Fuel (to pre-order dinner :))
Pricespy
Movie catalog (for my blu-ray collection)
Bubble (spirit level)
QR Code reader
Google googles (mostly a toy but occasionally useful to find out what something is)
Brother iPrint & Scan - lets me drive my multifunction printer from the phone
Alpha wave, scrolling vertical shooter
Team viewer - hard to use on a small screen but lets me remote control my PC
Netflix
Lightbox

1400361 2015-05-09 22:25:00 Can anyone recommend a Memo app for my Galaxy S4 Mini? The one built into mine (android 4.4.2) is really pathetic - my ooold Galaxy Gio running Android 2.x used to be perfect, with an icon I could place on the home screen which would open the memo and their options.
