1400199 2015-05-14 21:55:00 Yeah for a few tourists and people who were not born here to travel to and from the airport from apartments in the Auckers CBD. While people from Warkworth to Bombay pay for it. I never go into the city its been taken away from us New Zealanders who were born here. I used to go there mainly drunk as, after happy hours at work to the strip clubs and massage parlours in Fort Street and K road in a group when drink driving was a sport not a crime. It all got too hard so we used to get the strippers and dirty girls to come out to us at Hobby.

I work in the CBD but if I didn't I would hardly ever go there.

I wonder what our first house that SWMBO and I paid $9000 for in Buckland Rd Mangere East would be worth now? That was quite well placed for public transport at the time we were there.

1400202 2015-05-17 05:20:00 Here we have the classic misinformation

It is NOT a loop, nor is it light rail, it's a LINK that significantly increases the capacity of the ENTIRE network and allows new lines to be built, including to the airport and the North Shore.

If the CRL with a length of just a few kilometres (admittedly underground) is going to cost several billion dollars, how the hell is Auckland going to afford to build a rail connection (let alone find a viable route) for the North Shore or the airport?

It will NEVER happen.

Lol by buying up houses for the route at $1,000,000 every 25 metres or so for 20 kilometres then the cost of the railine.

They were probably the crowd I saw on TV with their better plan.
But they are not the council, or the govt.

Just because they have some good ideas doesn't mean those in charge will pay any attention at all.

1400206 2015-05-17 22:36:00 "Good ideas" are not part of the tool chest at council, gov't, or the rail hierarchy.
Trying to tender that currency has as much chance of success as expecting them to do anything within budget.
