1409701 2015-10-13 03:17:00 Performed Windows update but now Edge opens in full screen and resizes to a small box. BTW how do I find out which version I'm running?

Windows 10?? Go to start > All Apps > Windows System > Run and type in winver . For edge click on the three dots at the top right > settings and go to the bottom and the version number is there..

I am happy with 10.

1409703 2015-10-13 07:31:00 My annoyances are
1. Occasionally the shortcut icons don't work and this requires a restart to reactivate them.

2. Programs (unidentifiable) are preventing a restart and I have to wait until Windows closes them anyway.

Anyone else get these problems?
I get #2.
Task manager works maybe half the time. Reboots fix it so far.

1409705 2015-10-13 15:29:00 Okay, now I'm confused. I just did an update and my Windows version is 10240 and my Edge version is 20.10240.16384.0. Does that sound right?

Another Windows Edge gripe, in IE in Windows 7 I used to be able to right click on the back arrow and have my last ten sites appear. That no longer works.

1409706 2015-10-13 19:15:00 The versions listed are the public release, 10240, including the Browser Build.

What you described is how Edge is in that version, so it cant be changed. You may be able to change options / Actions in future editions, OR if you were using the Insider previews other options can be available. But they often even more unstable, Time limited and break other things as well.

You can always just use the Older IE if you wanted or another browser.

This happens to me in Windows v8.1 as well, so it has been around a while.

1409708 2015-10-14 07:27:00 Microsoft Edge is trying to run before it can walk!
It is still unusable, no ad block and no F11 full screen.
In fact there are very few settings, and like IE there is no choice of folder location for downloads.
Why do they bother?

Because IE needs to die ;)

1409710 2015-10-14 19:35:00 FINALLY, Microsoft Support engineers have admitted it -- From one of the forums posted on todays date ;)

Please be informed that Windows 10 is still in development stage and things might not work as expected

So everyone who has Windows 10 no matter what version are actually Beta testers :p

What I reckon is the reason MS have put a dead line of 29th July 2016 to upgrade for free is because its going to take till then for them to sort out the many faults, missing options and god knows what else, THEN they can charge for it.
