1401113 2015-05-21 23:14:00 In 1999 Telecom New Zealand began providing broadband internet (ADSL) under the name JetStream. Home users were offered 'starter' plans at 128 kbit/s upload and download. Speeds greater than 128 kbit/s were extremely expensive and extra data (beyond the allowance) was charged at over $0.10 per MB.

I think I got it now. That's how much you'd pay if you actually used 40GB on a pay-per-MB plan - not that they sold a specific 40GB plan for 13.5k!

I got ADSL just as the whole JetStream brand was winding down. IIRC I had a 1GB cap on 256k to start with.

Telecom/Chorus/Spark are in there grasping. Best answer = C; None of the above. :badpc:

1401116 2015-05-22 03:00:00 As soon as you group Spark with Chorus as being the same thing, it shows a total lack of understanding of how things are. I can understand how it helps the broken records around here have a moan about the Telecom of 15 years ago though. Alex B (15479)
1401117 2015-05-23 23:26:00 What a hoot, the Gattung chickens coming home to roost. Using confusion as a marketing tool, we know they are not being straight up...................publicaddress.net

And remembering the *&^%?>< got paid millions for the privilege.
