1401006 2015-05-20 00:38:00 I know his tattoos are not showing in the photo but did anyone see a picture of him with them showing? My understanding is that tattoos have a certain significance and one of his is particularly worrying.

Care to elaborate?

1401007 2015-05-20 04:24:00 I thought I saw a 'teardrop' tattoo under one of his eyes in a news item and also heard that he had a No. 13 tattoo elsewhere on his body. That's why I asked if anyone else saw or heard the same thing.
Only time will tell if there is any significance.

1401008 2015-05-20 04:34:00 Tattoos mean nothing except the person with them wanted it. It's not evidence of a crime. Sure some people place some meaning on them but that doesn't mean he's not just a copycat or wannabe or even knows the meaning you're getting at. There's a good chance he just thinks it's cool or makes him look tough.

I don't think this is a nice guy and hopefully he's found guilty of whatever he's actually done and punished accordingly. I still don't think it should be reported on or that any of us have enough information to make an informed judgement until after the case.

Fortunately being the typical Westie I am I understand both references. Although the 'teardrop' is more of an Mexican/American thing. Not so much for NZ gangs. Unfortunately the #13 does represent affiliation with a gang in NZ but there is a difference to being a supporter and a patched member, in this case it doesn't have any significance.

1401010 2015-05-22 00:58:00 Drugs endemic in certain groups of NZ's. Lone Kiwi (generational NZ's) men seem to be highly drugged (or it's affects) when comitting viscious outdoor - stranger (or semi) assualts. Many seem to stab and bash. Downgraded from the punch and boot from the 70's. Other cultures in NZ seem to assualt/murdur differently. Indians confront and burn, Vietnemese chase -slash with knives, Japanese seem to strangle and quickly hide victims. kahawai chaser (3545)
