| 1400896 | 2015-05-21 10:11:00 | Because of Vista I think everyone is a bit shy of going out and buying Windows 10 without waiting. | cyberhub (17366) | ||
| 1400897 | 2015-05-21 19:26:00 | Sticking with Windows 7 for now. If I'm still using Windows when that gets buried I might consider Windows 10 - unless something better comes along in the meantime... | Agent_24 (57) | ||
| 1400898 | 2015-05-21 21:47:00 | I have been trying Win 10 since the first public preview. Now on 10074. Still not ready for release. I have to use Classic shell as you can drag from the start menu on to the desk top. No point if you can't drag from the start menu or task bar to the desktop.. | paulw (1826) | ||

You're several versions out, its currently up to 10122 and theres been many changes since the earlier version. BUT if you are using a AMD graphics, don't try it, apparently AMD causes the New Browser to crash as well as several other problems. |

Personally I don't like cluttering up my desktop with shortcuts but if you do have you tried just right clicking and using the send to -> destop -> create shortcut option ? No need to drag anything, or even to have the desktop visible at the time. You can't do it with tiles of course but you don't have them on classic shell either. Fair enough if you prefer dragging them but it's no great hardship either way. I tend to put 2 or 3 programs I use a lot on the taskbar quicklaunch area, a few shortcuts on the desktop, and use the start screen/menu for everything else. Whats the point of any type of menu if you just put everything on the desktop. I've come to like the windows 8 start screen and the ability to create my own groups of tiles with just what I use on it, might even continue to use that option on windows 10 if it's still available on release like it has been on the preview. |

Do exactly the same thing. :) on my media Center if the option for the Win8.1 start screen is not there then it wont be changing to W10 -- its a LOT easier to open programs and networked locations from the big tiles on the TV screen from across the lounge than having to move close and look for what you want. |

Now you tell me :-) Yes I got an AMD error message, A critical error message asking me to log off and now a black screen.. |
