1400699 2015-05-14 09:28:00 I'm another that only has sky for the sport coverage. I'm waiting for the day that they release a "sport" only package so I don't have to pay for the half dozen reality tv channels that I don't watch hueybot3000 (3646)
1400700 2015-05-14 11:04:00 Sky is crap!

I have spoken!

1400701 2015-05-14 20:09:00 Yes actually you do, a decoder and a TV with the correct ports to connect it to.

It's called a TV guide and also the list of recorded shows on your sky device, not really that different.

I will point out you could buy a new Blu-ray player (samsung models with smart hub or a sony PS3 work well)with support for netflix and lightbox and subscribe to both services and still spend less in a 6 month period than a full price sky subscription. Driving either via remote is no harder than using mysky and setting them up initially is no great hardship. Then you get a device that can play Blu-rays as well and maybe even games and is yours to keep.

AV ports.
TV Guide, hmm, but you don't need to read it...just change channel.

Why subscribe to Netflix....all I see with these services is fiction.
Not into fiction...I read for entertainment.
We like the docos.....and I really don't want to scroll through lists then download.
As for Blu-rays, don't watch movies - I've said.

1400702 2015-05-14 23:00:00 Hmmm... I don't watch movies either pctek. However, most of the docos I watch I stream from Youtube my PS3. Seems to be an unending supply on there. Just type in something like "Horizon" or "BBC Doco's" and the list goes on forever. Being a little more specific gives better results, say like "Quantum Mechanics" or "Brain surgery for beginners" :)

Sadly my TV only has AV ports. I am not buying another just to plug things into it.
Youtube....hmm...yes I did notice they had the Pain, Pus and Poison episodes on there ....

I shall keep that idea anyway....eventually we will all be watching TV this way I think...TV as we know it will cease to exist eventually.

1400707 2015-05-16 22:16:00 Scheduled TV is a joke nowadays anyway... Sky or even free...

The technology exists for on-demand content, everyone should be using it. Why else do so many people have VCRs, DVRs, TiVos etc as well?

Yup. Last night's viewing for me was Coro Street (12 hours old, not 2 years), Britain Has Talent (days old, not 4 weeks), and Netflix (USA version).
