1400479 2015-05-12 01:39:00 I've been burgled 3 times at my current address, they went after the TV twice. I guess there's a ready market for them. What makes no sense to me is the 2nd one was wall mounted and they didn't get the stand, maybe that's why they didn't take it the 3rd time. They didn't get anything much of value that time. Each time they've rifled through my dresser draws and grabbed anything small and valuable that took their fancy. No luck with the police catching anyone.

I've improved my security each time, doors now need a key to open from either side when locked with a key and all my windows have security stays. I also have an alarm. You don't have to make the house impregnable, just enough of a nuisance that they'll go somewhere else. I put a fake camera looking at the window that was broken into the first time because it's well hidden from the street and they've avoided that window since. The Idea is even if they climb into a window they'll still have to force a door to get anything large out of the house.

These "people" are audacious, I live on a busy street corner across the road from some shops and they've broken into the house in the middle of the day n the road side of the house where they could easily be seen.

Thats because b8gger all happens to them if they get caught. IF .
I think we need compulsory jail time (at least a year) for all burg's & car thefts .

1400484 2015-05-12 09:39:00 Your poor bugger, know whats its like got burgled about 15 years ago. Only thing was he took my Airforce black bag with my name and rank and service number to take stuff mainly piss. His girl friend saw it freaked out it and dobbed him into the feld polezei. Hope they get the filth who burgled you. prefect (6291)
1400485 2015-05-12 10:34:00 Stupid fellow if he took a bag with somebody's name on it. This makes it easier for the Police to get a conviction. Good on his girlfriend for dobbing him in. Bobh (5192)

Likewise my neighbours up front.
First time they went in through a side window and stole money.
Cops never turned up.

2nd time they kicked the front door in, found keys and stole his precious 4x4. He came home, went for a drive round, found 4x4, found someone in that street had filmed them as they looked dodgy.
Cops had turned up that time and said, oh we need a whole hand print, not finger pints.
They were given the film later.

If they want to get in, they will.

Neighbour at side of us: halfwits from over back jumped fence, broke into their car - then had 3 goes at breaking into house - this at around midnight while they were home.
They then jumped back into our place, dropped some loot, sister hanging over back fence with a torch while her brother rummaged around on our lawn looking.
I was standing on back doorstep watching and telling him to piss off and was he that stupid.

Abuse exchanged and then I rang cops. Neighbour had rung too, but were unaware of this and who they were, I told them later and gave them HC contact details too.
Later he was arrested after a scuffle at their place.....

Neighbour on other side: I was on ph to HC one day, look out and see other young guy about to climb in back window. He sees me seeing him, and casually wanders back and over fence.

I keep watching, tell HC, hang up, ring cop. He peeks out from his doorstep to see if I am still watching.
Yep.

I go tell neighbour...cops arrive.

The only reason I'd say we haven't been burgled is we are home erratically. As in we go out, but they don't know when we will be back. Husband can go out, be gone 10 mins (just up shop), or longer so it's too risky.
