He has no support from the people who pay the rates us Whites/Asians/Indians but he was voted in by large amounts of polynesians who in general dont pay rates as they rent the houses from the ratepayers. This a totally undemocratic unfair system of local government as we cant stop the rate increases, we cant stop pants down from wrecking the harbour by extending dumb jetties for jap import cars. that light rail is a joke. auckland simply does not have the population density for it to work.
auckland needs to build up, its woefully short on high rise apartments. i'm not sure if the ground in that aera will even support high rises being build on it. 		tweak'e (69)

There is going to be a huge correction shortly, because it doesn’t matter who you are, you can’t borrow your way out of debt.

I doubt many have noticed that on one hand the Australian economy was said to be in dire straits, and we were talking about $parity parties, and on the other hand our “Rock Star” economy has dropped 7.5c against the $A in less than a month, and not a word from our intrepid reporters.

There are going to be some nasty shocks when reality hits home.

It is NOT a loop, nor is it light rail, it's a LINK that significantly increases the capacity of the ENTIRE network and allows new lines to be built, including to the airport and the North Shore. 		pcuser42 (130)
