1400081 2015-05-05 02:44:00 Well... as some people may know, I ditched my (excellent) Flip (https://flip.co.nz/) landline and Internet connection in favour of a standalone, if that's the word, mobile phone and Internet solution.

It's working well.

I used to get +/- 7 Mb/s downloads here with Flip, and similar at g/f's place. Was all good. This on ADSL2, and very happy.

But now back at home (in a cheaper part of town) and connected via my mobile plan and hey what... my d/l speed is roughly 10Mb/s!

Admittedly there's the same sort of latency (20 - 30 ms), but how bizarre and cool is it that!

Admittedly my speed tests were done around low use times of the day, and using PCWorld's test page over there in Aus. But still... :-)

This is to Wellington and as everyone knows the internet runs much slower when you send it through sea water.
ADSL2 as we can't get anything else here.

Wow! Can I get Spark 4G with this speed on my desktop computer? Seriously, is that sort of thing possible? How much would it cost?

1400090 2015-05-05 06:32:00 If you're in a 4G area with a 4G USB data stick, yes. Might want to check data prices before you do that. Alex B (15479)
