504619 2006-12-06 10:21:00 last week my mp3player stopped play music,
when i got home i plugged it into my computer to find all my mp3s corrupted, i couldnt delete anything in Explorer and there were random folders within folders, with random looking symbols as files names

after looking around, the solution seemed to be pointing at Formating the drive,
after numerous trys and methods i managed to format it, but now its 'RAW" file system

any attempt at formating using Command Prompt or Administrator Tools just gives me a 'disk is write protected' error

there is no write protect switch or hold button on the mp3player
my OS is Windows XP Pro sp2

504620 2006-12-06 10:59:00 Greetings. Make sure that you have administrative rights before attempting to reformat it. Also, one of the possible explanation as to why this occured is that the mp3 player has its own formatting system. Try checking your mp3 manual and see if there is any way for it to reformat itself by clicking a few buttons or something.

What's the model of your mp3 player?

Cheers :)
