505571 2006-12-10 08:58:00 Hi All

Can anyone tell me where OE keeps it`s message files? I want to re-format the HDD and re-install XP. Under `file/export I can only export to Outlook or Exchange, neither of which I use. Not a lot of use if I`m formatting the HDD.
Is there a file I can save and replace when XP has been re-installed?

Cheers:

505572 2006-12-10 09:11:00 Have you considered using XP's Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (www.microsoft.com) to create a backup of all your personal files?

Even if you don't have a new computer, use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to create a backup copy of your files and settings, which can then be used to restore your detailed configuration data if you ever need to reinstall Windows XP.

Just found another guide which looks very detailed - FILE & SETTINGS TRANSFER (www.aumha.org)

505576 2006-12-10 19:34:00 The Files and Settings Trasfer Wizard sounds great, and it is when it works but I know of someone who used it prior to a reformat then lost everything when it refused to restore afterwards so I would not rely on it completely.

Always have another working backup of your files and data as well if you cannot afford to lose them.
