505538 2006-12-10 04:06:00 Is it possible to run two hard drives striped, with one hard drive acting as a mirror of these two? Of course the second harddrive would be at least as big as the two hard drives running striped.

These are the setups that I am hoping are possible!

The first one would be for example, 2x36gb raptors striped, with an 80gb as the mirror, the 2nd would be 2x36gb raptors striped with a 320gb hard drives partition as the mirror, with another usable partition for the rest of the hard drive.

So u can see what different RAID setups do.

0 or 1 may not do it, but 5+ might.

505540 2006-12-10 05:17:00 Yea, already read that, understood most of it. I am led to believe the setup would be most like raid 01, but with the mirror not on another stripe, but on a single partition/hard drive, just unsure if that is able to be done dirtbag (6060)
