| 506330 | 2006-12-13 00:52:00 | I see on looking at the FaqF1 site that Nero Media Player is not amongst the five programs listed as favourite media players. Is it not that good please ? It has somehow become my default player and I may well change if you guys have reservations about it. thanks Misty :confused: |

| 506331 | 2006-12-13 00:58:00 | I didnt install that as part of Nero 7. I use DVD x player. Only coz it plays any zoned dvd. And other formats. But, it isnt free. And Winamp, or Itunes, for the Ipod. I dont usually use Itunes. I installed it only coz thats the only way u can update an Ipod. Jetaudio plus or even the free version of Jetaudio isnt too bad either. But, the free version hasn't got some extras, like what the plus version has. Altho, I would rather burn whatever to CD or DVD and play it on the stereo. Since I dont have speakers on these. Only headphones. |

Personally I don't like any application stealing procceses, so after installing it I changed the defaults it set for itself. If you want to change the default player go into Control Panel | Folder Options | File Types and follow your nose from there. Or if you require further help doing this, just ask again, advising what app you want to use for playing whatever. |

Hi Greg Went into Control Panel/ Folder Options/File Types ....then advanced and it gave me only the option of VLC Media Player which I do not want (apologies to Chill). Something very mainstream like Microsoft Media Player would suit me fine. Misty :confused: |

| 506336 | 2006-12-14 07:36:00 | Ahh, have had another go and I see there are a multitude of options, Scary to say the least. For example one option I have is how to view JPEG files of various types. I have just changed from Nero Photosnap Image Viewer to Windows picture and Fax Viewer for four different types. Now, I know that I asked about media players but presumably the principal is the same. Will go back and have another look ! Misty :) |

| 506339 | 2006-12-17 06:53:00 | Haha, Misty if you wanna use WMP over VLC Im seriously not going to shed tears ;) I like Nero Showtime (Different from Nero Media Player), it reminds me of PowerDVD. Speedy: You can copy files to your iPod through WinAmp just fine... In fact IIRC you no longer need to download the ml_ipod plugin, but it works just straight off the bat now :) I know VLC aint the prettiest of the lot, some of the skins are sexy though... and FooBar 2000 for music, hands-down! |
