| 505846 | 2006-12-11 07:34:00 | Hi guys... just latley in the past week i have been getting really slow speeds internationally. It has been fine since about Monday last week. I have been downloading from servers at about 20Kbs.. From xtra.co.nz downloading game patches and trailers i download at around 300Kbs.. I was just curious if anyone else has been experiencing this.. Im on the Xtra Go Large plan. |

| 505847 | 2006-12-11 09:48:00 | This is known issue to 90% of all Xtra Go Large users, Xtra will not acknowledge that there is any issue. International bandwidth provisioning by Xtra is the only explanation that we can find, some sort of bottleneck at the ISP side, thus any speed tests to jetstreamgames (the tests they will ask you to do) will not show any problems :O | muzzle (10342) | ||
| 505848 | 2006-12-11 10:20:00 | The internationally speeds have got better over the last month or so (when I download Vista RC2 via a US server I was getting 100KB/s – 200KB/s - 300 KB/s but that was when I was getting speed test results of 100 – 200 KB/s ( I am now getting 300 KB/s – 400 KB/s speed test results) But I have not done much international downloading recently since I download Vista RC2, so it could have got worse or better. I think Terry Porritt & a few others in this thread: pressf1.co.nz & maybe one or two others have found out or have come to a conclusion on what the problem could be, & it is that Telcome has stuff up there international link to the new ip rang as when people where on the 222 & 219 etc.. ip range the international speeds where fine, but since the 125 ip rang came around, international speeds have not been that great. PS: have a look here www.ispmap.co.nz & you may get an idea on what I mean. |

| 505849 | 2006-12-11 10:50:00 | If you were downloading vista from a Microsoft server, then your speed would be higher than the rest of your International downloads. This is because M$ is a customer of AKAMAI Technologies according to wikipedia en.wikipedia.org | muzzle (10342) | ||
