505778 2006-12-11 01:38:00 Hi there, when i try to install new programs I get this error:

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination
directory. MoveFile failed; Code 32. The process cannot access the
file because it is being used by another process. ABORT, RETRY or
FAIL. I tried RETRY but it didn't work.

I tried to install another program and received the same message. Can
someone please tell me how to correct this problem?

I checked and i am using the Admin account which is also the only account on my computer.

Cheers

You're not trying to update a program, thats installed and running are you?

I would also use ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com) to get rid of the crap on the hdd.

What programs bring up this error?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
505785 2006-12-11 02:33:00 I've used a cleaner to clear all the crap off my hdd. Im trying to install new programs like spysweeper and a quake game and there was another prog but couldnt remember. Kryptos (2831)
505786 2006-12-11 03:01:00 Hmmm i've just installed Adobe Reader 8 just fine. And I also remember installing Windows Washer fine as well. Is it because these programs seem to use there own type of installer or am i just tripping? Kryptos (2831)
505787 2006-12-17 19:24:00 that problem is with bitdefender. Uninstall it and do a reinstall. I had the same problem. scubadog40 (11601)
