506827 2006-12-15 04:08:00 Im having problems downloading older versions of catalyst drivers, i've found or presumed that older driver's, released at the time of your video card, offer better performance than newly released catalysts.

now ati's and amd's new website dosen't provide older catalyst drivers ( older than 6.1) for users to download. also, most other 3rd party sites also do not have the catalyst drivers available to download, they simply mirror the download location for the catalyst 3.8 I want, to ati's site, and when you get redirected,
ATIs site simply says that "THIS DOWNLOAD IS UNORTHORISED" meaning that the particular program you want to download no longer exists.

so just asking if anyone knows some site which has an archive of previous video card drivers?

and also is it true, or to how far of an extent, that older drivers, are better for your older videocard?
