| 507459 | 2006-12-17 23:05:00 | I notice that the wireless connection speed is always slower than the wired connection of my home network when connecting to the Internet. Even when the Laptop (wireless) is only a meter away from the Router without any obstructions in between. I have tried changing the channels but no significant improvement; the Internet download speed is usually 50 - 100% slower than my wired desktop. I am using a Linksys WRT54GX Router with D-Link DSL 502T ADSL modem. Is there a way to improve the situation or that's the way it is and to live with it? Cheers |

It is 11.g |

| 507463 | 2006-12-17 23:28:00 | look at these wireless antennas that give u a better signal: www.dse.co.nz it says it's better than the current aerial you get with your wireless router. hey does anyone know how much dBi the wi-fi aerials that come with wireless routers have? The aerial at dse has 7dBi. |

| 507464 | 2006-12-17 23:36:00 | update: I just found out the antennas that come including with wireless routers are only 2dBi. wow. So i get about 2Mbps from about 30 metres away,so if i got the 7dBi aerials i'd get at least triple that which would be 6Mbps. |
