507628 2006-12-18 23:23:00 You wonder how long these guys can stay in business upsetting customers. You would think word would get round and their business would drop. But of course too many people buy pc stuff on price.

One day someone will give them a spot in Fairgo. A pc shop in Upper Hutt had a slot a year or so ago!

That did wonders for me, I went in paid the $10 or $20, family didn't want to deal with it, they thought of just accept and walk around. Forced them to go into Noel Leeming and and the guy let us grab the missing pieces off a new package :p At the time I was at the other side of the country. Before they said they sent it back to the manufacturer and each time we rang or came in they said its not here yet or the guy who dealt with our inquiry is not here, please leave a message and we will get back to you (which they never).

It was a CD/Soundcard Soundblaster kit. I filed it like 6 months after they had it for warranty. So I wasn't being harsh. Man, darn didn't grab the Soundblaster AWE32 instead or that 8x speed CD-ROM :D

Its funny because when we got it at the first time, we installed it and then it wasn't able to detect the hardware under software. So we got a new box swap and the same thing happened. They just didn't believe us and thought we broke it or didn't know how to install it. Upon the 2nd time they said another guy had the same problem, then they let down their ego a bit. They offered to install it in our PC, so we took it to them in the evenings. I asked the technician if there is a charge for it, he said he does not know and it will be my job to talk to the guy who dealt with me. I ignored it and upon leaving I was asked to pay for the repair for a 1 day old device. I didn't budge and we left without paying. Then the funny thing was they didn't provide the utility software for us, so we had to backup the individual files and go via the hard way to make it install incase we needed a backup :annoyed:

Now I diagnose it myself and I source parts away from those stores. Don't know why bro wanted a Soundblaster and nothing else.

507634 2006-12-20 06:06:00 I needed a graphics card badly, sadly after seeing Super Cheap treating its customer like this, I placed an order in C1 Shopping Mall for an ASUS ATi Radeon 9250 256MB 128bit 240Mhz. Is that a great price for less than $100? PedalSlammer (8511)

yes, but it's not exactly gaming material if that's your intention. personally i'd get (had) the 128MB silent one.

and as for the original post/thread starter - just spare the time to go in there and be a right pain in the ass untill they give either the drive, or your money to you. if you don't live near auckland though i'd see why this wouldn't be so practical

Who say this is for gaming? Those Hardcore PC gamers are rich, they do whatever it takes for a real graphics card cost around $1000 or over.
Oh yeah did anyone bought stuff from ETC Computers?

i just threw that in incase you were infact after gaming performance (in which case $250 will suffice for the student gamers like myself)

you should see the "gaming" systems on TM and Dell advertisements - fx5600 or worse with less the 256MB ram - and people actually buy them
