508251 2006-12-20 05:43:00 I went to defrag my hard drive the other day but it said it was scheduled for a scan.
So I clicked on yes for a scan for the next time the computer rebooted.
When it tries to scan it says something like " Can't open volume, haven't got direct access".
I tried to boot into Safe Mode, but hangs on loading the drivers.
The funny thing is, everything is fine in normal Windows XP.
I've tried Spyware and Virus Scans. Tried a System Retore but said it couldn't.

What spyware and virus? McAfee? Norton?

508253 2006-12-20 08:08:00 I've only got Avast! 4.7 Home Edition.
Tried Ad-Aware SE and Spybot Search & Destroy.
