| 509193 | 2006-12-24 09:28:00 | What charger? CMOS batteries don't last forever. Are you talking about the CMOS battery? If you are, go into the BIOS, and if it's not saving the settings, replace it. |

| 509195 | 2006-12-24 10:38:00 | If it works fine on mains power, but not on batteries, your battery may well have reached it's use-by date. If it won't even go on mains power, the charger is probably kaput. This is a pretty poor test, but without meters etc, it gives a fairly good idea. Substitution is of course a great test if you have a friend with a similar laptop. |

If they made them last much longer than that no one would need to buy any replacement batteries which makes for bad business sense ;) . |
