508927 2006-12-23 08:17:00 I have been unable to use Gmail for a while now...

I have Firefox 2 updated and IE6 and I'm running Windows xp SP2 fully updated.

I am using Avast Anti-Virus

I have tried deleting all the cookies, temp files and reinstalling firefox but I keep getting alerts saying Error code: 007 or 008 when I try and do something in Gmail.

This is very annoying.

Any ideas?

508928 2006-12-23 10:03:00 Have you tried following the troubleshooting guide for those errors given by Gmail? See Gmail Help Centre (mail.google.com). Jen (38)
508929 2006-12-23 19:13:00 Having problems with Gmail too. I can log in OK and read my mail but if I try to delete anything or shift anything to another mailbox I get a window saying "Connection Closed By Remote Server". Same thing happens with Opera, Firefox & I.E. Was OK until a couple of days ago. Can`t even post the problem on the Gmail discussion group. If I click on the "Join This Group" button I get the same message. Tried a different computer but no luck. Can`t find the same problem in the Gmail `help` files.

508930 2006-12-23 19:39:00 Try downloading your mail using POP. For Outlook and OE users, an exe configuration file can be found here. (toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/GmailConfig.exe) pcuser42 (130)
