508687 2006-12-22 03:08:00 OK...I've got the card all installed and it plays over-the-air broadcasts well enough with no discernable signal loss.

I can record the broadcast thru the built-in recorder, but I don't get the sound to play back.

Any ideas how to get this running? I have looked thru the settings and it allows me to record according to the stuff I find there, but I cannot actually get it to work the way I think it should.

I also have another issue with the record-to-dvd thing-y too.

Is it possible to record to a dvd or whatever format it requires.

It tells me that the Configuration MPEG1 VCD is not installed. I beg it's pardon! I totally installed the whole cd that came with it. The button is there to create a VCD compatable file...now what? :help:

508688 2006-12-22 03:18:00 Hmm depending on how the sound is connected (either connected to line in or AUX) the program if it came with 1, should have a recording option, which will let u choose AUX / Line in or other. And the option should also be ticked under sounds in control panel.

I wouldnt burn directly to DVD, as the systerm may not be able to keep it. Even if your system is fast enough.

Umm, does it give u the option of MPEG 2?? Which would be better.

It'll be better saving as MPEG 1 or 2 then burning it with something like Nerovision or other. VCD is pretty crappy....And not as good as DVD.

508689 2006-12-22 07:05:00 I have the audio jack out from the Hauppauge card in to my Line In on my audio card, as it works in playing live streams . . . . . . . . .

(? I don't think it is streaming, as it is just decoding the over-the-air signal and playing it), but then it all falls apart when I actually record the stream .

While I am playing live tv, I never see any HDD activity at all, so I know it's not using much of the computer, just the vid and aud cards with their own RAM .

I can get the vid OK on playback of recorded files . . . . but it's silent .

Maybe I have to go search for an update or are they gonna want $$ for that option?

508690 2006-12-22 17:39:00 BUMP!

And...does anyone see the spot to click for a download of this driver?

I have gone 'round and 'round in circles for 15 minutes looking for the link to click. All I get is back to this site every time and nowhere to go from here...

508691 2006-12-22 17:55:00 You sure you've got a Hauppauge TV2000??

That model isn't even on the Hauppauge site! ( . hauppage . com/pages/support/support . html" target="_blank">www . hauppage . com)

I know there's a Leadtek/Winfast TV 2000 XP tuner, which is the Deluxe tuner, but this isn't Hauppauge .

I hope you haven't coz the Leadtek software doesn't / won't install if u have WMP 11 installed lol . Well the stupid thing won't install here .

508692 2006-12-22 20:50:00 I wouldn't use the record to DVD, just record it to the HDD and then use the MPEG editor to edit out the ads if you want to, then use DVD burning software to burn to DVD.

SG - he is mean in the Hauppauge WinTV 2000 program, What is the actual TV Tuner that you have SJ?

508693 2006-12-23 05:02:00 I get this as a result when I ran Belarc....

Hauppauge WinTV 878/9 WDM Aux Driver
Hauppauge WinTV 878/9 WDM Video Driver

But the card itself says: Hauppauge TV2000 ...so can anyone tell me?

A friend gave this one to me but it was missing the cd-rom so I got the drivers automatically from Windows..and the wizard got it all working...except for the sound after recording part that is.

508695 2006-12-23 16:06:00 Right now, I am trying to get the drivers from Hauggauge . . . they say that I am supposed to remove all the Windows wizard stuff and only use theirs . . . they even provide a remover tool for all the stuff that Windows provided .

Hauppauge says that the ID of the incorrect drivers is Win TV 878/9 WDM . . . etc . . . . and that's what they are called . . . so out they go .

That's all well and good, but now their site is either so busy I can't get in or they are away for a drunken holiday and aren't answering their requests at this time . Perhaps they forgot to wind up their server .

Try I shall for a few days or two . . . and will post the results here when and IF it all works again .

I suppose the admonishment of disconnecting from any LAN/WAN actually means to not allow Windows to try and insert their drivers . . right?
