509151 2006-12-24 05:13:00 Merry Christmas Eve everyone. Just a quick question:

For the second time I have now encountered photos burned to a CD which appear to be cut up and reassembled. imagef1.net.nz(Medium).jpg

This seems an odd corruption. It is as if someone took a pair of sissors to the image and then attempted to put the pieces back together in a hurry. Any thoughts?

509152 2006-12-24 07:54:00 That is certainly very bizzare in how the photo is rearranged. I take it the original images from the camera are normal? Jen (38)

Have you got access to the originals?

No. However - good news. I tried viewing the images again and noticed the blocks had changed. So I took the CD to my wifes PC and lo and behold, they came up 100% correct. So the problem, whatever it is, must be with my CD drive or possibly Windows Explorer.

I've opened the same image with Paint, Office Picture Manager, Fax and Image Viewer, and Firefox. In every case the fractured image is the same. Interestingly the thumbnail looks to be ok.

And as a bonus, a member recognises a child so I'll send them a (hopefully) good copy.

509155 2006-12-25 03:40:00 Downloaded a firmware upgrade for the Lite-on drive and the pics were correctly displayed a couple of hours ago.

However I've just reinserted the CD and the same images are corrupted again. Odd.

(a) V E R Y carefully. Use a micro chamois.
(b) Good? Virtually phenomenal thanks. Not a tsunami or forest fire in sight. No Junkmail, carol singers departed, only fly in the ointment is a mysterious and sudden shrinkage of my belt.
Hope your day was right up to expectations.
Cheers.
