510189 2006-12-27 19:54:00 I am using Packard Bell desk top with Windows XP home and is stored in the hard disk. I have installed an windows xp professional, by mistake I have partioned and the original xp home stored in the hard drive is gone. My problem is the XP Professional is having single licence, so I am unable to activate the windows and the system is not going to windows at all. and I wanted to restore back the installed XP home which is in the hard drive, but I am unable to locate it. I think while I am installing xp professional, I might have removed XP home from the hard drive by mistake. I have not taken a back up cd for the same. How can I restore back my windows xp home.

Please help me
Thanks in advance.

510190 2006-12-27 20:26:00 Hi, Welcome to PressF1.

Packard Bell are actually pretty decent. If you drop your box off to them over in Albany (Auckland) they'll re-load the OS (WinXP Home) on you and give you a set of restore discs for around $80 IIRC. I did this myself for a customer approx 2.5years ago, I would hope things havent changed.

Look them up in your whitepages, give them a call.

Cheers
