510746 2006-12-29 18:37:00 I just got a new monitor and for some reason my mouse has been acting slow.

I've already made sure I have all the updated drivers for my graphics card (www.google.com).
I've already made sure I have the correct chipset (h10025.www1.hp.com) for my board. I'm running a Compaq Presario S6030NX (www.ny-dev.com)

and i just bought this monitor (www.tigerdirect.com)

with an intellimouse 1.1a; no USB

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

510747 2006-12-30 00:14:00 Hi, Welcome to PressF1. :)

Do you mean the mouse cursor moves slowly across the screen and/or is jerky? Is it an optical mouse or ball mouse? If it is a ball mouse, then try removing and cleaning the ball and internal rollers. Are you using the same mouse pad/surface prior to getting the new monitor?

510748 2006-12-30 01:37:00 Have you tried adjusting the mouse scrolling and movement speed that is held with in the controll panell. Sounds simple I know but give it a blast and see if that resolve this problem. If not can we please have some more information. cheers CaptinMoor (8392)
510749 2006-12-30 01:57:00 Start, Control Panel, Mouse, Pointer Options and untick Enhance Pointer Precision. Then use the slider to make the pointer move more quickly. How fast is over to you.

This assumes you use WinXP as your O/S.

Hope this helps.

510750 2006-12-30 14:08:00 Thanks for the replies guys.

Those are usually my first steps in troubleshooting this type of problem.

Yes, I have tried all of the above before thinking of anything else.

I figured maybe there was a more advanced answer for the problem as it seems like a simple one, but far from it.

510751 2006-12-30 20:38:00 Can you try a USB mouse and see if that makes a difference? Jen (38)
