To make an overclock worthwhile, you need alot more than just 25% Remember your HD & RAM are going vastly slower than this so you wont help the bottlenecks that much. Off topic but.... the obsession with numbers(BHP) was discussed in a vid I just watched about tuning skylines. Guys were just interested in just more BHP, above & beyond what was actually needed even for racing. |

Motherboard, RAM and Cooling are just as important as the CPU, in some cases even more important. In order to get high overclocks a system really needs to be designed and built from the ground up for overclocking. Its no good deciding 6 months after purchasing your new PC that you want to overclock and then expecting to get results like those seen on the internet. Granted alot of AMD64 based CPUs can hit 2.6GHz - 3.0GHz but most of those overclocks are actually achieved by people who know what they're doing with setups designed to reach such speeds. Complaining that your Sempron doesn't hit 2.6GHz like you see on the internet is foolish, its not the CPU holding you back but either your skills or hardware. |
