| 511144 | 2006-12-31 01:43:00 | when is telecom going to be rolling out it's adsl2 services to it's customers in 2007? And how much of the work to install the adsl2 hardware in the exchanges has been done? And do u think xtra increase the go large download and upload speeds to adsl2 so we can have an unlimited adsl2 go large plan? me personally, i think xtra will limit the upload speed to 512kbps and have full download speeds. | lance4k (4644) | ||

| 511148 | 2006-12-31 04:15:00 | when is telecom going to be rolling out it's adsl2 services to it's customers in 2007? According to Juha In the Dec 2006 / Jan 2007 PC World mag, I think I read it may get roll out in the first half of 2007, but I wont hold my breath . And how much of the work to install the adsl2 hardware in the exchanges has been done? Who know  :waughh: , I dont think it has even started yet (I could be wrong thought) And do u think xtra increase the go large download and upload speeds to adsl2 so we can have an unlimited adsl2 go large plan? I think you may find there will be a complete set of new plans for ADSL2 |

| 511151 | 2006-12-31 04:38:00 | Heres my opinion: They will introduce ADSL2+ with new plans and scrape the old ones (yes no more go large). Since iHug and Orcon are upgrading the network for ADSL2+ you might be better going with them. Caps are going to rise up as Telecom wont be controlling that anymore so they will have to raise theres to be competitive to other ISP's. Price wars are going to start as we have 4 main ISP's: Xtra iHug Orcon Vodafone (this will be interesting since they are bringing in their own landline network) I predict the new main plan will be 10gb for $50, dunno about download but a healthy upload of 512k or 768k. But by the looks of it 256k upload will be the norm. Just look at Austrlia's plans they have 10mbit with 256k upload. One plan is upto 17000 / 256 kbps with 400mb bandwidth for $50 >_> Lets hope we don't follow in their footsteps. |

| 511152 | 2006-12-31 05:37:00 | I will be very happy if they actually remove caps from all plans. All the expensive plans Telecom is offering is just garbage. During the past few days, my internet have been disconnecting quite often. It's very hard to play games online and to download stuff without a download manager. Let's say if they just roll out ADSL2+ next year and the cap is just 2gb. It would take you like less than 1 hour to fill up the bandwidth meter. And the Xtra's plan about unlimited plans aren't even true at all. In all their advertisements, they never state that "700mb" during peak hours. They should spend more money on fixing the network. Many people never reached their full speed and my downloading speed in just under 3mb/s. |
