| 510970 | 2006-12-30 03:08:00 | In all Office Programs (Excel, Outllook, Publisher, Word) when using "Save as" it takes aprrox 18 secs to change to another directory. Sometimes I get the message that the program is not responding and then it will finally change. It must be connected with Windows Explorer because I understand that Office uses this. However the only time I have a problem is in an Office program. I have reinstalled, I have used Detect and repair - all to no avail. | dvlusty (7252) | ||
| 510971 | 2006-12-30 05:15:00 | Strange question, but are you having any problems with using or sending a print job to the printer? | Jen (38) | ||
| 510972 | 2006-12-30 05:35:00 | Have you installed Office 2003 Service Pack 2 and other latest updates? | CYaBro (73) | ||
| 510973 | 2006-12-31 00:42:00 | Thanks Jen for your reply - the answer is in the negative. No other problems at all except this one. | dvlusty (7252) | ||
| 510974 | 2006-12-31 00:48:00 | Thanks CYaBro I did try to install updates without much success - I will try again and report back. This problem was not there originally i.e. when I got my computer new in May. Stupidly I did not note when it started - should have been more observant! By the way not sure how I have "Junior Member" under my name but am far from that in age and experience. Started desktop computing with the original Apple II in 1982!! |

A few of the "oldies" rather like being described as Juniors :p but you can change it to whatever you wish in your User CP Profile options, Custom User Title. |

Have just done another testing: Turned off McAfee FIrewall Turned off McAfee Virus detector Disabled GoBack All Office updates seem to be up-to-date Done another Office Detect & Repair Inspected all settings in the above programs Seem to have reduced the time to around 10 secs but no better The delay is still ONLY in Office and in nothing else - tested almost every program on my computer |

| 510977 | 2007-01-02 07:52:00 | Are you on a network? I have seen such delays if a networked drive is not available. It waits for the drive to respond before timing out. | linw (53) | ||
