1410598 2015-10-29 04:39:00 Hi All.

So I changed from one to t'other. I think that not everything migrated. In particular a picture of me in my teens.
Is it likely to be anywhere else in this laptop except in My Pictures? Thanks. PJ

1410599 2015-10-29 04:48:00 Have a look on the C drive, there will be a folder called Windows.old look through that, esp the Users and see if its still there.

BUT you HAVE to do it BEFORE W10 has been installed for a month - after 1 Month W10 automatically deletes the Windows.old folder, and you cant roll back to the previous version either with a fresh install of that version.

you cant roll back to the previous version either unless a fresh install of that version.

1410601 2015-10-29 08:53:00 But very strange if the data was copied selectively. linw (53)
1410602 2015-10-29 17:20:00 Was the pic in a format other than your other pics?,something that windows 10 does not recognize

It appears as something else and when clicked says "choose a app or does not have a app to open"

1410603 2015-10-30 04:26:00 No windows.old. so the data has gone. So be it PJ Poppa John (284)
1410604 2015-10-30 05:31:00 It probably appears in another format somewhere else

Should have saved an image of your system within that 1 Month grace period before Windows old is deleted so for some reason you want to go back just reload that particular image

Got my windows Old back by default as I had not backed up with a image for 45 Days, system fell over could not repair and was given the option of starting from scratch or reloading a backup image

All folders were saved to another drive so nothing lost

1410605 2015-10-30 08:00:00 If you can remember the name of the photo do a search on all drives 'name.*'
I never keep photos in 'My Pictures' on 'C' drive, I keep them on another partition and back up to an external drive after adding any new ones.

1410606 2015-10-30 19:55:00 Could you not search for all the old photo extensions eg *.jpg etc Digby (677)
1410607 2015-10-31 06:05:00 All sorted. Both the photos I wanted were in a large picture frame of photos. Maryann snapped the with her camera & they both cme out well.

So Thanks all. PJ
