| 1410279 | 2015-10-21 06:21:00 | I am thinking of getting a laptop. I know many of you have preferred/disliked manufacturers. Could anyone advise what I should be going for? I was thinking of 64bit, 4G or 8G Ram, 500G HDD, Intel i5 or i7. |

My first Asus developed a faulty hard-drive, but the warranty service was brilliant - the workshop detected a potrential problem with the graphics card and replaced that too. Delivery to and from the factory was seamless and fast. So I would recommend both. |

I also have a Lenovo Thinkpad which has never had any problems. Both have Intel processors. If you already have a lot of old software maybe 32bit with 4GB Ram would be better, 64bit with 8GB Ram if you are buying new software. |
