1401890 2015-06-03 08:13:00 Mobile or landline? Either way it's more expensive than a consumer line. Alex B (15479)
1401891 2015-06-03 08:18:00 Depends on who you are with and if you work from home or a shop. wainuitech (129)
1401892 2015-06-03 09:14:00 When I worked for myself, many years ago, I advertised in the local paper. Within a month I had P&T or Telecom advising me very politely that they were changing me from domestic to business rates because I was advertising for work. PJ Poppa John (284)

1401895 2015-06-03 20:07:00 The rules now is that if you have commercial premises you pay business rates. If you work from home you pay standard home rates.
Husband did it for years and years.

1401896 2015-06-03 21:54:00 Partly it will depend on what services, SLAs etc you want backing you. Typically a business-grade connection (be it voice or data) can be had with better SLAs, and in some cases different options for additional features/services. But if you just want a basic line, and you work from home, those points may be irrelevant. inphinity (7274)

This sounds like the way to go.

1401898 2015-06-03 23:47:00 I worked from home from 1992 to 2014 and just had the standard residential package for all that time. Telecom, Telstra Clear, then Vodafone. I never advertised, so there was never anything publicly identifying me as working from home. I never asked any tele service provider the question you are asking Cic, and they never asked me what I used the phone for, so the issue wasn't addressed.

I was more concerned about whether my house and contents insurance was kosher, and on that issue I also chose to live and hope...
