| 1401586 | 2015-05-30 04:40:00 | I signed on the dotted this morning for a new Hyundai I30 petrol auto wagon. The spec ticked all the boxes, it drove nicely, I've heard good reports, the load space is solid and dead flat, and I (inadvertently) got the benefit of end-of month sales pressure and got it at a decent price, including a tow bar and roof rack. First time I've owned an auto, so that is going to be interesting. The cabin tech isn't state of the art, but it is OK and light-years ahead of my soon to be ex car - the 1999 Lancer. It has taken a while, not through indecision Cicero, but due to there being no urgency and many other things to do but I got there in the end. BTW can anyone tell me why the original thread has been closed? I guessing it is because it had been inactive for a while, but could there be another reason? Thanks again to everyone for all the help and advice. |

A while back they implemented a feature where threads are closed automatically after a certain period of inactivity. If there was some other reason though I'm sure there would be a post there from one of the mods explaining why. |

Only problem I have sometimes with Automatics, is out of habit you go to press down the clutch to change gear -- Opps no clutch, what to do with left foot , oh well find good music on the radio :punk ( tap tap tap with left foot) Then you jump back into a manual, and judderrrrr -- oh yeah - not the auto. |

I have an elderly friend who I drive occasionally in his car, and I always nearly put him through the windshield somewhere in the first 500m as I press on the clutch - oops, that's the brake. Soon settles down though. Similar thing happened today when I was test driving, but only once. | Tony (4941) | ||

I guess it depends which you drive the most. I alternate between his manual and my auto so I don't forget clutch in his , or go to use it in mine or anything. |
