You can disable programs that run at start-up that could be slowing the system down. You could also run Ccleaner to remove unwanted items such as temporary files and also run a disk defrag after that to clean-up you drive. Bryan (147)
1409736 2015-10-13 19:41:00 I don't know for sure about Win 10, but previous in versions you could get to the RUN command, type in MSCONFIG and you'd be able to see what applications are running. You could probably type it into your start screen. There you would be able to see what unnecessary programs are running by default which may be clogging up your system. It may sound a bit complex for you but as I've never used Win10 I can't give you better step-by-step advice. From memory Windows 8 and later have a Startup tab in Task Manager. pcuser42 (130)
1409737 2015-10-13 20:45:00 To be honest , I'd suggest to take it to a PC repair shop. Unfortunately it sounds like it may be beyond your capabilities .

You need to run malware scans, looks at whats installed & remove HP crapware. Uninstall unwanted programs that may be slowing things down.
It could be hard drive issues or power save issues causing this (sometimes the CPU gets stuck in power save mode )

Has it allways been slow, or just recently ?
Just what is slow, all programs, just internet or email, slow to startup but is then OK after 5 minutes?
