1409922 2015-10-15 05:11:00 Please tell me... what's the best recommended email client these days? I use Seamonkey's built-in one, but Thunderbird sticks in my memory.

This is for a Windows 8.1 opsys.

Thanks.

1409926 2015-10-15 19:07:00 Outlook. I have used tbird but after it had a its second crash a few years ago deleting some emails I had stored I went back to Outlook Agree with that - Have quite a few calls from people who say they have thunderbird and its either completely broken, or in some cases wiped all mails, mails missing. wainuitech (129)

1409928 2015-10-15 20:41:00 Use Thunderbird with no issues, easy backup and deploy (Mozbackup)

Previously used Opera Mail when included with Opera browser (mail now separate) ,Opera Mail to me was better and cleaner looking

1409929 2015-10-15 21:31:00 It's largely dependant on the user, I use outlook at work but don't particularly like it. I have used thunderbird, then switched to live mail which I find perfectly adequate.
Lately I have tried the windows 8 & 10 modern app but don't really like that either.

After upgrading my PCs to 10 and being back to not having a client installed I decided I don't need one. Now I just use the Gmail web mail interface and have set my yahoo xtra address to forward to Gmail. On top of that I use my Samsung phone to check my mail most of the time anyway. I have office 365 with outlook but it's a 1 year trial and I won't be paying for it after that so I don't want to get used to using it.

1409930 2015-10-15 22:18:00 I have used Forte Agent for many years. Handles all mail accounts including Gmail. Also does News Groups.
Costs about $45. Compatible with all Windows versions.

1409931 2015-10-15 23:30:00 Outlook .
ease of import/export to new PC's
Good built in calendar & task/reminder
its pretty much the standard email client in the business world
(unless its old) excellent support for hosted exchange (office 365 email)
Often other email clients will import old email from outlook, so thats good when you want to change brand of client
other email clients are a absolute nightmare when you need to export you email to a different client, for whatever reason.

But
can be a bit buggy with imap (but still usable)

some Email clients can have all support stopped & no new versions available without notice. This leaves you with incompatible email client that you cant export email to
you new brand email client . I had this with Eudora .

Some people looove incredimail :lol::badpc::badpc:
