2007-01-04 11:29:00 | I'm currently on the Go Large plan and I'm shocked at A) The customer service and B) the speeds. I wanna leave Telecoms broadband and change to something faster. IT CANNOT BE MORE THAN $50 PER MONTH. So far I have found Xnet. I have never heard of it before, that is why I'm curious of it. I have heard it is good but what is their max speeds like? I play Xbox 360 online a lot and get heaps of lag, so I want a good upload speed (I think) How does their unlimited mb cap work? Does it slow my speeds down or anything like Telecoms did? Id rather be on a 10gb per month limit but it appears that is $60. If someone has speeds/prices/gb limits similar to above (And hopefully a more well known name, like I said, Ive never heard of Xnet until now) please tell me. Also, if I do get connected to Xnet's Flood plan, how much will it cost to get set up? We already have a modem, we already have filters and we're NOT gonna change our phone line from Telecom. So is there a connection fee or whatever changing from one isp to another? Thanks.

I'm with them along with a good majority of users and satisfied with what I have. Though location and other factors make a difference to speeds. |

2007-01-04 19:19:00 | The Xnet Unlimited usage is different to Xtra's Go Large. With Xnet you pay the base monthly fee (depending on which plan you choose) and then you pay approx $1 per GB of data. So you can use as much data as you like but you pay for it! If you set your monthly data limit then you pay the base fee plus approx $1 per GB up to the data limit you set. Once you hit that limit you get slowed down to dial-up speed or you can purchase more GB's. If you don't get up to the data limit you set you only get charged for what you used.

2007-01-04 21:20:00 | So say I chose the $49 plan...And used say 8gb that month...it would cost me $57?? I never saw that written anywhere...So really I can't get full speed dl and ul for only $49? Id have to pay more in the end? I thought it was too good to be true!

2007-01-04 21:30:00 | Welcome to Press F1 WolfForest22 :) Have a Search pressf1.co.nz of these forums for “Xnet” & you will find there are a good number of happy PressF1 users who are happy with Xnet (& one person un-happy with them, but this guy got piss off with them & troll two forum about this) Xnet seem a poplar ISP with Press F1 members at the moment as well.

2007-01-04 21:41:00 | Ok I just read another topic on that. So Ive got a question: If I did the $49 plan with unlimited usage - I only get charged roughly $1 for every gb I use. So if I use 10gb I get charged $59 and so on. If I did the $49 plan with 10gb of usage for $60.19 a month then that is the MAX id pay, correct? So what if I only used 5gb? Would it take $5 off my bill or what? To put it simple, I want a limit I'd never go over (Max we've ever used is like 8gb, that was on a 5gb plan, so we used 3gb of dial up speed lol) but because Id never go over it, I also don't want to be charged for anything I dont use. It's all sounding good so far. Will ring them up today. What kind of speeds should I expect? I live in Christchurch city and these are my results I did at 10am on a popular speed test (Xtra go Large remember) 3995 kbps / 123 kbps 4151 kbps / 132 kbps 4149 kbps / 109 kbps Basically I have no idea what upload speeds can get to. It's just that I get tonns of lag on Xbox Live and I want that fix. Thanks for all your help guys.

2007-01-04 22:07:00 | I just rung them up and asked them a question or two and then when I asked what speeds to expect she told me all their sales and tech people are on the phone and to ring back later... | --Wolf-- (128) | |
2007-01-04 22:08:00 | Yes they will not bill you over $60.19 however after those GBs it is dialup speed. It depends on your location and stuff, I for instance is getting 1.97Mbit. Edit. Its a Telecom issue. If you can get Telstra cable worth a try.

2007-01-04 22:15:00 | If you use 5GB. They bill you less. They bill you for 5GB, not 10GB. If you use 12GB after 10GB its dialup speed. Xnet does not have unlimited fast speed internet.

2007-01-04 22:29:00 | There is no connection fees. Xnet can turn off interleaving I think, but I arn't a gamer ...
