513482 2007-01-07 05:21:00 i have a toshiba satellite laoptop which i just recently tried to reformat, after formating the drive, the installation began and about 2 minutes into it, the computer turned off with no error warning, it will no longer turn on, is this common when reformating laptops? are there any probable explanations or solutions? gulice (11734)

It is not a common problem at all let alone while reformating.
I would try the laptop without the battery in and see if it turns on.
Also try holding the power button down for about 10 seconds.

513484 2007-01-07 06:55:00 unfortunately no go on either suggestion. i just noticed that the lights dont even show up for when the adapter is plugged in. gulice (11734)
513485 2007-01-07 08:41:00 It could be that the adaptor has died and the laptop is fine, just has a flat battery.
Do you have a multimeter you can test the power adaptor with?
