513090 2007-01-05 23:15:00 Hi guys

I'm installing another 512 DDR400 RAM chip. Problems. Three RAM bays, two open. When I install the extra RAM in the second bay, the PC does not want to start, keeps on peeping and the monitor shows "no signal". If I put it into the third bay, no sounds, startup OK but does not recognize the extra RAM. Yes, both RAM chips work well, tried it with both individually, no problems.

Is there any way to "force" the Mobo to recognise the third bay in stead of the 2nd. Any other ideas?

513093 2007-01-05 23:29:00 When you put it into the second bay, make sure its in the right way round, and push it down hard, to make sure its seated properly. but only push it hard if you are SURE that its round the right way Dannz (1668)
513094 2007-01-05 23:30:00 What about the brand / model of the motherboard?

I was going to say the 2nd simm maybe faulty, but then u said separately they work.

Yup and make sure u hear a click and it locks in, when u put the ram in.

513097 2007-01-05 23:54:00 Installing RAM can be a little touchy cause you have to push rather firmly to get it to lock in properly The_End_Of_Reality (334)
