513055 2007-01-05 21:59:00 Hey all,

Ive been feeling more and more like getting into HD DVDs... But I wouldnt know where to start with buying an optical drive, or even the actual HD media itself!

On Pricespy I see a few Blu-Ray writers, but Im more interested in HD DVD.. And I only want a player for my PC, not an actual writer (just yet ;) )

Where would be the best place to begin?

Cheers

But I do think HD DVD will win

Hopefully that might bring the price down, due to lack of competition.

Or lack of sales more like!

I think Apple is actually catering for both since they are one of the companies involved with the standards of HD DVD if my memory serves me correctly.

I think I would forget it for a year or two. Unless you have a good HDTV and access to a HiDef camcorder or something the excersise would be waisted as we have no HDTV to archive programs from.

Rumoured or at least discussed but I don't think it actually happened. If it did happen it would be a good thing since Sony puts out some decent hardware but I would think that Steve Jobs would need to be in the drivers seat for it to work for Apple.
