| 513980 | 2007-01-08 10:35:00 | I've got two networked pc's running winxp, one with sp2 (SP2PC) and one without (SP1PC). They both show up in eachother's "network places" under mshome workgroup, but when I click on SP2PC icon on SP1PC computer, I'm asked for a username (greyed out box) and password (nothing seems to work). I can go in the other direction fine, and access all the shared folders on SP1PC when using SP2PC, but can't seem to get the former direction working... I have file and printer sharing and "use simple file sharing" enabled on both. Suggestions?? Thanks. |

| 513981 | 2007-01-08 20:22:00 | If one has XP Pro on it and simple file sharing is disabled/unticked, (if u use permissions for folders), it needs to be ticked, otherwise you have to add the other PC's username / password to the PC thats bringing up the error. Any firewall on either? |

| 513982 | 2007-01-09 09:16:00 | Same issue/symptom with and without zonealarm firewall running... As i mentioned above, both have xp pro and both have simple file sharing enabled. Cheers |
