| 513986 | 2007-01-08 20:12:00 | Hi there! I'm loving the Vista RC1 so far bar two little niggles... one is that theres still alot of manufacturers out there that don't support Vista for the devices I have installed... they're slowly popping up though and I've nearly got my system working as I want it. The biggest niggle however is that I've not been able to alter things like default programs. I use Opera as my browser and everytime I start it up it asks if I want to make it the default. I figure maybe for the RC1 they stopped all non-MS software from becoming default... which is kind of odd in my mind but plausible. However... I also use MS Outlook (not Express) and that refuses to set itself to default no matter how many times I tell it to. Also I set my POP3 password to save to my password list, but it asks me EVERY time I check my email to enter my password. Any suggestions on how to fix this or even just WHY it doesn't work so I can shrug my shoulders and move on knowing it's a release candidate issue? I have tried altering defaults manually via control panel, but even this doesn't seem to work. Any help greatfully appreciated. |

What with getting over Christmas and everyone having summer weddings and then with tax due in February... it's all good... as I said I do plan on buying it soon and can put up with these niggles for now... but niggles can be oh so frustrating! Anyone else had these issues and know a fix? |
