513699 2007-01-07 21:39:00 Hi there

Can anybody tell me how to stop the "Mouse Properties" box opening up each time I start up my computer?

I searched in Google and found this website but I'm not sure I should try it.

support.microsoft.com

Any suggestions would be most welcome :o

Has this box got an option, in it saying something like run on startup?

If it has untick it.

513701 2007-01-07 22:00:00 Not that I can see. The Mouse Properties box is just the standard one that you get by going to:

Start
Control Panel
Printers & other Hardware
Mouse

513702 2007-01-07 22:10:00 Are you using an Intellipoint mouse??

It'll be easier getting ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com) to fix it.

Download/install, run then click on the tools/startup tab in ccleaner.

See if point32.exe is there. If it is, highlight it and press delete it.

Then reboot. See if the box comes up then.

513703 2007-01-07 23:20:00 It's actually a Genius Optical mouse that we had to install as our HP wireless mouse receiver needs to be sent away and fixed. leanne888 (11741)
513704 2007-01-07 23:34:00 Yup did that. No sign of point32.exe but there is a program with the following details:

Key: HKLM: Run
Program: mouseElf
File: C:\PROGRA~1\GENIUS~1\GNETMOUSE.EXE

I can't see anything else that obviously relates to the mouse.

513705 2007-01-08 00:11:00 Delete it if u downloaded ccleaner or type msconfig under start/run, and untick it in the startup tab.

It should still work, but depending on whether this program gives it other options they may not work after.

Thats the file to execute that mouse stuff.
