2007-01-07 19:24:00 | Lucent modem installed, detected by Windows fine, diagnostics fine, all fine except whenever you go to create a new DUN connection it says no modem is installed and launches the modem setup wizard. If you let it, it fails to find a modem, if you get it to do the modem manually it comes up with a blank box for the models available. I have uninstalled and reinstalled: Modem (with old and new driver) DUN TCP/IP DialUpAdapter - basically everything to do with DUN, networking and the modem. The modem works fine, tried an external USRobotics - same thing, it installs fine, windows is happy, device manager happy, DUN refuses to see a modem. Any fixes short of formatting the revolting O/S??

2007-01-07 20:02:00 | Change the port to 4 or 5, you may need to add these. Place it in the last pci slot.

2007-01-07 21:08:00 | So the external modem don't work either ah. You could try puppylinux, it has worked with every ltmodem I've tried so far. (which is only 4 btw) Settup is easy as. d/load iso (www.puppylinux.org)and burn to disk. boot from disk. Select your keyboard type. Select you video resolution. (1024x768-24) Once the desktop appears: Click the "connect" icon on the desktop. Select "ttyLTO" and click save. In the next dialog box that appears type in your connection details: Name of connection Number to dial User name Password Click connect. Sit back with silly grin listening to the sweet sound of modem dialing. (warning: this may just happen without your controll!!! :p )

2007-01-08 00:17:00 | Linux isn't an option for this lady either. If she's seen the puppy running and dosen't like it, then she's correct, it isn't. Then again, she dosen't really need to see it dose she? Chances are it's like all the other's ah?

2007-01-08 06:50:00 | Looks like you have access to another computer that is connected to the net to make the post. This may help. I think its worth a try. Its not going to damage anything. Downloas LSPFix.exe from the link below. www.cexx.org Lots of info on the site Ian
