| 514659 | 2007-01-10 07:00:00 | Hi one and all I have a customer who has a very wizzy electric piano He is in no way computer literate but wants to be able to load songs into the piano. From a quick skim thru the huge manual, it would seem that the piano needs midi files. The piano some how diplays the musical notes(score) in a readable fashion, so not only can the player hear the music, but can also see the notes being played and thus learn the music. Question one. What is a program that will convert MP3, WMAs etc to midi (preferably free) Question Two. Has anyone out there in F1 land had any experience with this sort of applicationand can pass on any tips. I can see that this project is going to be one of those big time wasters with little hope of an economic return, so any help available will hopefully save me some time. Cheers HH |

| 514662 | 2007-01-10 07:36:00 | It generally doesnt work like that Because MP3s are full quality sound, and Midi's are only the information about which notes to synthesize with what kind of instrument, you generally cant go from MP3 -> Midi AFAIK. I had a customer come into the Cybercafe about 3 years ago wanting to do something like this, in the end they just spent an hour or two searching for midi files to download off the 'net coz they're so tiny and a lot more freely available when compared with MP3s. |
