| 514579 | 2007-01-10 01:10:00 | HI I have one of thesehttp://www . ascent . co . nz/ProductSpec . . . ?ItemID=341879 . i would like to setup an ftp for it . so i can access it form anywhere . so far what i have done is port forwarded ftp using its HDD local address . tinypic . com/4h1fry9 . jpg" target="_blank">i13 . tinypic . com then went to no-ip . com to setup dyn dns . and used my external ip as my ip . whenever i visit th xyz . no-ip . biz it asks me for username & password even if i sign in as anonymous . where am i going wrong? . |

The reason you get that problem is because it's on your network, if you try accessing your network through the internet while on that network, you'll get asked for your Router login information but if you've configured your setup correctly, everyone outside your network should be able to get to your FTP. | 514584 | 2007-01-24 09:54:00 | Do you realise that you need to create users before you can use FTP? there should be no anon account setup by default. EDIT: go and download the advanced user manual for it, it tells you in lame mans terms with pictures and everything of how to set it up |
